OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition Comes To T-Mobile Dec. 6

Updated: Oct 6

The moment we've all been waiting for is here! And if not you, then definitely me. It was a little over a month ago that OnePlus announced that not only was the 7T Pro coming to the U.S. But it was going to be the McLaren edition; and it was going to be a T-Mobile exclusive. I damn near exploded. What's more, when OnePlus announced all this in late October, the company also announced it was a 5G variant. And as of December 2cnd or what I'm calling Christmas come early day, you can finally get your pre-order on! I think I saw Android Authority or Droid Life break the news and I couldn't be more excited. This was the moment I'd been waiting for for so many reasons.

First of all, the design is pure sexy wrapped in phone. And maybe it's just the full on nerd in me. But, I've taken to calling this the "OnePlus 7 Pro: Killmonger" edition. Because that orange-and-black design reminds me of the suit he got to wear in Black Panther. I mean just look at it! How does that not get you a little unhinged!?

Secondly, the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition brings the heat with specs you can respect! A Snapdragon 855+ processor, 256GB of pure storage, and get this, a f**cking 12GB of RAM. When you think of a future proof phone...this is as legit as they get. My 7 Pro was was already smooth, fast, and a sight to behold. But this McLaren Edition is just sickening!

And speaking of the future, let's talk about that 5G baby. Last month, when T-Mobile announced its plans for rolling out its 5G network I was stoked to know the 7T Pro would be one of the catalyst to guide me into that brave new world.

And in addition to allowing 7T pro pre-orders, T-Mobile went ahead and said "oh 5G? You get that too...but later" So it's active, just currently no one can access it until later this week. The network, however, will cover “200 million people” in the US.

I do think that it's important to note that this “nationwide” 5G is a slower form of 5G, and it utilizes T-Mobile’s 600MHz spectrums. That said though, T-Mobile’s 5G is truly 5G, unlike some other companies out there. Looking at you Att. And an article posted by The Verge states: "T-Mobile doesn’t offer specifics on what kind of speeds you’ll see on the new network, and the actual improvements will vary a lot by location. “In some places, 600 MHz 5G will be a lot faster than LTE. In others, customers won’t see as much difference,” a T-Mobile spokesperson tells The Verge." What that means to me is that though it might not be the fastest version of 5G it'll still be damn good and faster still than 4G.

So I know what you're thinking now. "Damn it Quamina! I'm sold! Just tell me how much already." Well, the

OnePlus 7T Pro Killmonger Edition is going for $899 on T-Mobile, under a 24 month plan. And you can get it for free if you leave your carrier for T-Mobile and bring with you an eligible device. Now that's a Got Damn Deal!

So If you’re ready to ride hype of the 5G train pre-order your very own exclusive OnePlus 7T pro from T-Mobile now. And be prepared for the future. Shipping estimated to begin as soon as December 6. I know I already pre-ordered mine.
