How long does it take for a Marvel geek to have a nerdgasm? Just 30 seconds of excitement and there it is. Marvel/Disney+ revealed a brief but riveting teaser trailer for three of their upcoming series: Loki, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and the one I grow increasingly more excited about, WandaVision.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is going to be huge as we will most likely see Sam aka The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) pick up the mantle of Captain America. Which would be comic accurate. It would also be appropriate to see Bucky aka The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) do it as he has also dawned the mantle in the comics. So the hype and the anticipation is real. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is scheduled for release some time later this year.
As for the other 2 trailers shown. WandaVision (which sounds a lot like a crazy 3D ride at Disney Land) and Loki (which is scheduled for a release some time in 2021.) Have great potential to be tied to the future of the Marvel Multiverse. And as hyped as I am for Loki, we won't get more on that until closer to 2021 or even in 2021. And believe me, I'm pretty freaking hyped for a Loki series. But I'm even more unhinged over WandaVision for the simple fact that a) they look to be doing something not before seen in a series. And b) the events of this series are to be tied with the plot of the second Doctor Strange movie. Where Elizabeth Olson will also be playing the Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff.
To go back to the Trailer, seen below. Or the title picture, seen above; you can see that Marvel is giving us the classic ICONIC Scarlet Witch costume! FREAKING BALLER! This leads me to believe so many things are now possible. Yes, with just the appearance of a costume. Well that and the combination of the potential Soctor Strange tie in. Because this means that the Studio Might be fully ready to embrace the powerhouse that is Scarlet Witch. If you read my "Superhuman Bar Brawl" of Scarlet Witch v Doctor Fate you'll understand that Scarlet Witch is a force of nature and just as dominant.
In that article I reference the famous "House of M" story line very briefly. However, in that story she creates an ALTERNATE REALITY in which every Marvel hero got their deepest wish fulfilled. I mean WHAT!? And seeing how Vision is supposed to still be gone I believe that is what's happening here. And I believe she may be the cause of the Multiverse of Madness. But them is just my theories. Only time will tell if I'm accurate or nah.
Disney+ and Marvel previously announced that WandaVision would receive a 2020 release date, moving up from its original 2021 window thank Thor! And again I believe it's so that this show can sow the seeds for Doctor Strange's second movie! And again, the hype is very real.
So strap in boys and girls. Because what we saw in that Superbowl spot was just the idea of the tip of the iceberg. Because with Keven Feige over seeing all Marvel live action projects (Both movie and series). We're in store for one hell of a ride. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be first to bat, with WandaVision coming later this year. After that we get Moonknight (which, UMMMMMM YES!), She-Hulk, and yes Loki. And again, that's not even the full line up for the coming years. So again I say to you. Strap in nerds, because Marvel/Disney+ just got nuts!
